But the search engines like it, and so do professional salespeople, sales managers, business owners, and entrepreneurs who land here, so I used both words in the headline.

And looky here...if you're gonna nitpick everything I write on this page...welcome.

I'm a grammar Nazi because...

WORDS MEAN THINGS!!!

And most people—I don't care the profession; I don't care their formal education level (in fact, many highly-educated people suffer from this more than "regular folk")—are TERRIBLE at the written word.

Yeah, yeah.

They are grammatically correct when they write, but they are not interesting; therefore, they are not persuasive; therefore, they are sad, bitter, angry, lonely people bemoaning how underpaid, under-appreciated, and misunderstood they are. (It's never their fault, is it?)

But that's not you.

You understand that everything you read and write...

  • on any social media site...

  • in any email...

  • in any text...

  • in any direct mail piece...

  • on any website, blog, or landing page...

  • in any proposal...

Is copywriting because it is being evaluated by your reader, who is deciding—often in a split second—if they want to continue giving you their time and attention, which you need if you are to make a sale, which reminds me...

To Make Any Sale, You Must Make Every Sale.

"Whoa there, Tiger. What are you saying? Are you promising me I can make every sale?"

Do you see what you did right there?

You jumped to a conclusion. (Your prospects do the same with you. Can you keep their attention? Can you get them back on track? Can you enter the conversation going on in the minds of your prospects to keep them from ever getting off track in the first place?)

I didn't promise anything.

I didn't say I'll teach you how to "make every sale."

I said, to make any sale, you must make every sale.

What does that mean?

Take a look at the image below...

Let's say marriage is the pinnacle of sales insofar as clubbing and dating goes, i.e., you go out to a hot spot or a dance or a concert or some other event with the ultimate goal of meeting the man or woman of your dreams.

Well, before you get married, you must get engaged. (SALE)

Before you get engaged, you must meet the family and get their approval. (SALE)

Before you meet the family, you must win over the person so they like you enough to bring you to meet the family. (SALE)

Before you win over the person, you must get them to go on a second and third and tenth date. (SALE)

Before you can get them to go on a second date, you must get them to go on a first date. (SALE)

Before you can get them to go on a first date, you must get them to give you their number. (SALE)

Before you can get their number, you must get them to speak with you, invite you to take a seat, join them for a drink, dance with you, etc. (SALE)

Before you can get them to dance with you, you must shower (SALE)...wash your clothes (SALE)...brush your teeth (SALE)...

Now, do you see why I say, To Make Any Sale, You Must Make Every Sale?

You are in a different state of mind with a different frame of reference and a different goal when you approach your prospects.

You want to engage and ask questions.

They do not want to share anything "that can and will be used against them in the negotiation."

You want to move quickly and get the deal done.

They want to take their time and ensure they are getting the best deal possible.

You want their email, cell phone, home address, and favorite color.

They want to remain anonymous and send you to voicemail.

This is why you need to learn copywriting...now!

"Yeah, yeah, Wes. You're such a salesman. I don't need to learn how to put words on (digital) paper. It's all AI and machine learning and bots and TikTok twerking nowadays."

You're right.

So why are you still here?

  1. Are there refunds?

    If you tell me you can't put gas in your car or food on the table without a refund, I'll refund you.

  2. Will this work in my industry?

    Yes. "But you don't know me or my..." Stop. Right. There. I know you're a human, and you're selling to humans, so I can help you in this program. I've sold financial services as a licensed stock broker with my insurance license. I've sold mobile homes. I've sold 7-figures in tech services to Google at their HQ in Mountain View, CA. I've sold $635,000 in training to Dell. I've sold SaaS from home since 2008, which was way before this whole WFH thing was a thing.
