- She was a “generalist for a long time.” But niching has helped her focus and grow. Around the 10-year point she hadn’t specialized and a more senior company recommended she specialize and that's when she decided to “choose who to lose.” She won't work with doctors or attorneys. She realized she loved working with franchises and multi-location industries, and after making the switch over five years ago it has paid off.
- Make sure your logo is readable at an inch wide.
- Stick with your logo. Your logo is not your brand. Your printed material is not your brand.
- How you do what you do is your brand.
- It's okay to start with a template website if money is tight but make sure your content is good. Have somebody proofread your content.
- Spend money on a good business card.
- Write down your story. Why should people care?
- All social media is not good for all companies. Choose which works for you.
You need more than social media. Print material reaches people at a different level now since everything is so digital.
